The New Orleans Pelicans build a 22 point league to help defeat the 76ers.
The All-Star break is over, and it was time for the New Orleans Pelicans to get back to the nitty gritty Friday, as they welcomed the Philadelphia 76ers to the Smoothie King Center.
Led by their All-Star big man Anthony Davis, the Pelicans held a 71-55 lead in the first 24 minutes. It was in the first half where Davis was unstoppable, scoring 18 of his 34 points.
The 76ers mounted a furious comeback behind their young core Nerlens Noel (24 points) and Robert Covington (15 points), cutting New Orleans' fourth quarter lead to one 94-93.
Thankfully, the Sixers defense was unable to slow down Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson. Both Holiday and Anderson combined for 22 second-half points to lead the Pelicans to a 121-114 victory over Philadelphia.
The Pelicans will return to action Sunday, as they take on the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
I'm guessing you were routing for the Pelicans?
