What will New Orleans Pelicans Anthony Davis do as an encore? 

The New Orleans Pelicans look to extend their winning streak tonight, as they take on the Washington Wizards, at the Verizon Center.

This is the Pelicans first game since Anthony Davis' historic 59 points and 20 rebounds performance against the Detroit Pistons, Sunday afternoon. 

Davis became the first player in the last four decades, to post a 50 point and 20 rebounds game since Shaquille O'Neal (2000) and Chris Webber (2001). 

As the Pelicans prepare to take on the Wizards, the question on everybody's mind is "What will Anthony Davis do for an encore?"

There have been countless of players who scored 50 points or more, but never came close to reaching the milestone again.

The last player in NBA history to score 50 points or more in back-to-back games was Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant. In 2007, Bryant became the second player in league history to have four straight 50 point games, next to the late great Wilt Chamberlain.

I'm not saying that having back-to-back 50 point performances is impossible for the 22-year old center, but Davis' chances are highly unlikely. 

Besides Anthony Davis has a lot more to worry about than scoring 50 points in back-to-back games. If the Pelicans win tonight, they will move into tenth place in the Western Conference as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive.
