After his historic performance of
59 points and 20 rebounds game, Sunday, Anthony Davis and his New Orleans Pelicans' three-game winning streak came to an end Tuesday, in a 109-89 loss to
the Washington Wizards.
Despite only trailing by three
points at the half, the Pelicans never recovered from their slow start in the
second half. In the third quarter, the
Wizards open the half on a 14-0 run.
On a night where Davis was held to
nine points, the Pelicans were led by point guard Jrue Holiday, who led New
Orleans with 20 points and 7 assists.
John Wall led the Wizards to a
victory with his second triple-double of the season of 16 points, 11 assists,
and 12 rebounds.
The Pelicans will return to action
on Thursday, when they host Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder, at the
Smooth King Arena.
